The fish and chips were delicious! First time in my life I have ever had dressing on fries topped with gravy. Interesting flavour.

Hands down the best fish dinner I’ve ever had. Not only was the batter just right, fries were great too. It what made it worthy of the 5 star review was the stuffing and gravy that came with it. I’d travel back to St. John’s for this alone. Most fish and chips, IMO, has better that’s too thick or too crunch or bulky. This was the way it should be. Staff were cool too. Setting was old style cost.

We are on our honeymoon and this was our first stop in St. John’s. The fish and chips were so good! Staff were friendly. Great energy! We’re stopping back in for another meal before we head home.

Proper St.John’s pub. This is the place the Local bartenders-maids ,waiters -waitresses hang out. I was lucky enough to snag some good picks when they all stepped out for a smoke. I had a great time here nothing but friendly folks here. Cheers!

This is a great bar! Perfect for live music or to pop in for a drink. Friendly staff and owners and all round a great spot.

New owners Bill Haynes and Lyndsey Hamen really got it going on with The Ship Pub. Truly, the best Fish and Chips in St. John’s with a relaxing atmosphere and great service. While you’re at it try their Roasted Red Pepper/Tomato/Feta home made soup - magnificent. Top it off with a great server, Liz who was a delight. Would definitely return and would recommend in a heartbeat. A 10++ experience.

We’ve been in St. John’s for two days and we’ve been here twice already. Come for a late lunch and had the seafood soup, it was lovely and flavorful. Lindsay and her staff are absolute gems, you can tell they care for the pub and the customers. The vibes are perfect and what you would want in a pub called The Ship. We’ll be back before we leave to go home.

Delicious fish and chips with a light batter and love the touch of bringing the tartar sauce bottle for those that want what they want! Nice covered patio touch.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this before - I have been a patron for over 20 years. But lately I come regularly for work lunches and business meetings as well as the scattered weekend brunch with family and friends. This place is a gem with one of the best kitchens in the city. And the prices are very reasonable. I could post a million photos but I am going to choose the Terrine I had last week which was insane. Highly recommend.

Love this spot! Old fashioned pub with lots of character and soul. Friendly staff….variety of good drink choices, and….the food is delicious!! They are known for their fish and chips which is amazing however, this time we had a burger and fries, oh and gravy…..so good!! I recommend always getting the gravy when eating there.
